The Kiwanis of Little Havana Foundation

A nonprofit organization

Kiwanis of Little Havana Foundation was established in 1987 as a 501 (c) (3) organization.
Through annual youth programs, our Foundation becomes a mentor to inner city children who are less fortunate and in need of financial assistance. Corporate donations from various partners are received to enable the Foundation to underwrite the costs of increasing the number of new participants for future programs and to continue the tireless effort of impacting the lives of Hispanic and African American kids in the Miami community. Some of our ongoing programs include:
Back to School: Since 1991, the Kiwanis Club of Little Havana has distributed book bags full of school supplies to over 65,000 students in low income area elementary schools.
Scholarship Awards: Since 1988, the Foundation established a Scholarship Project for Hispanic students with financial difficulties and assists with tuition fees and books in any State of Florida college or university up to the attainment of a Bachelor's degree. Currently there are approximately 55 students in the program that has already graduated over 150 young men and women.
Basketball League: The first project of the Club in 1975; since then, the league has trained and mentored thousands of children many whom have credited the league for their successful careers.
Healthy Kids Summer Camp: Since 1990, during the 8 weeks of summer, children attend a camp full of safe and fun activities. The club provides all day supervision, lunch, uniforms, education and field trips to children ages 7-13 selected based on family income - all free of charge to the families.
Christmas is a busy season for the members of the club.
