Born Free Pet Shelter Inc.

Born Free Pet Shelter, provides a geographically critical service as a no-kill animal rescue organization in the southwest Miami-Dade County community since 1981. Since the founding, Born Free Pet Shelter has saved thousands animals, with successful adoptions, our programs support the sheltering and welfare of homeless animals. We rescue and care for all dogs including those with special needs; epileptic, blind, deaf, paraplegic, as well as seniors.
Countless dogs are left abandoned and lost in the Miami streets and the Everglades, after nurturing these animals back to health we begin the process of adoption. We educate families and provide training programs for our volunteers. Our volunteers include students, as well as caring adults from the community who are involved in the socialization and loving care of the animals. Our 5 acre property allows for care of animals in a humane, open environment, programs include micro-chipping, neutering, spaying and quality veterinary care.
