Building Generational Wealth in Little Santo Domingo

Every dollar you give helps a small business owner in Allapattah build generational wealth, preserve Dominican culture, and strengthen Miami's most authentic neighborhood. Together, we're not just preventing displacement—we're creating lasting prosperity.

Our Proven Impact

Since 2021, The Allapattah Collaborative CDC has empowered Allapattah's small businesses through culturally-rooted, community-led solutions:

  • 83 small business graduates equipped with tools to thrive

  • $6 M in capital secured for microbusinesses over the last 5 years

  • 140+ businesses assisted in 2024 alone

  • 120+ jobs created strengthening our local economy

  • One of only 10 communities nationwide selected for the Smithsonian's "Many Voices, One Nation" traveling exhibition

Why Allapattah Matters

Allapattah is home to Little Santo Domingo, Miami's vibrant Dominican cultural heart. But gentrification threatens to displace the very business owners who give our neighborhood its authentic character. Small businesses face rising rents, limited access to capital, and barriers to ownership—pressures that erase cultural diversity and community identity.

Our Community-Led Solution

Born from neighborhood residents' needs, we use the Main Street Approach to create equitable development that works for everyone. Our programs include:

  • Small Business Resource Center - Comprehensive training and technical assistance

  • First Time Commercial Buyer Program - Pathways from renter to owner, with $600,000+ in participant capital acquired

  • Tradición en Acción - Intergenerational programs preserving Dominican heritage through art, dance, and storytelling

  • Facade Improvement Program - Transforming storefronts and revitalizing commercial corridors

  • Festival del Plátano - Celebrating culture while generating $4.5K average vendor revenue

National Recognition

Our innovative work has earned recognition from Main Street America, HUD, the Citi Foundation, and most recently, the Smithsonian Institution. The "Many Voices, One Nation" project validates what we've always known: Allapattah's stories deserve to be celebrated and shared with the nation.

Your Impact

With your support on Give Miami Day, we'll continue:

  • Helping 60+ new small businesses graduate our programs

  • Supporting commercial property ownership for longtime business owners

  • Documenting and preserving our community's stories for the Smithsonian exhibition

  • Creating jobs and building wealth that stays in our neighborhood

  • Protecting Little Santo Domingo's cultural authenticity while fostering growth

Join us in building generational wealth, preserving cultural heritage, and creating a replicable model for communities nationwide.
