Kids are awesome. They're creative. They're fearless. They're bursting with energy and hungry for knowledge. They know how to make the most of every opportunity.
But kids from our most vulnerable communities don't always have the chance to discover just how awesome they can be. These kids are filled with promise. They have big dreams and bold stories to tell. And yet, due to circumstances and systems beyond their control, they don't always know that they have the freedom to choose a path of their own.
At Guitars Over Guns, we're changing that through music, because we believe that music, combined with strong, consistent mentorship, can reshape the trajectory of a student's life. During the 2023-2024 school year, we are delivering high-impact programming to a projected 850 youth at more than two dozen school and community sites throughout Miami-Dade County, served by a dedicated team of nearly 50 professional musician mentors. It is our belief that all young people should have the opportunity to discover and reach their full potential through the power of mentorship and the arts.

Guitars Over Guns offers students from our most vulnerable communities a powerful combination of music education and mentorship with professional musicians to help them overcome hardship, find their voice and reach their potential as tomorrow's leaders. We are here to shift how young people think about the world and their place in it. By sharing skills and experience, rooted in our common passion for music, we inspire our students to see a future that's filled with potential - and help them be excited and accountable.
