The Bass is Miami Beach's contemporary art museum. The museum presents contemporary art of excellence with exhibitions featuring local, national, and international artists. The Bass believes that access to contemporary art, artists, and artistic experiences is integral to the vibrant lifestyle and creative spirit of its community. The Bass works directly with artists, celebrating their creativity, and enabling multiple points of view that reflect the issues of our time. The Bass commissions new work, championing experimentation, site-specific projects, and large-scale/pivotal works in an artist's career.

Central to its mission, The Bass maintains a cutting-edge, vigorous education program for lifelong learning, using art as a catalyst for creativity and its Creativity Center is the largest education facility within an art museum in Miami-Dade County.
