Miami-Dade’s affordable housing crisis is crushing working families. We’re missing 90,000 affordable rental homes for households earning up to $75,000 per year. This gap in affordable supply contributes enormously to the fact that more than half of Miami-Dade households – over 500,00 families – cannot afford the basics. This includes our preschool and day care teachers, home health aides, medical assistants, drivers, restaurant and hotel workers, and elders on fixed income. 

However, we remain optimistic that this is a solvable issue. Miami Homes For All’s programs have made crucial strides in recent years.

Our goals are (1) increase the supply of affordable housing and (2) expand access to it.

How we’re meeting those goals: Our work spans from housing development to policy advocacy, from research to youth leadership, because that’s what solving Miami-Dade’s ongoing housing crisis demands. These programs are not separate lanes — they are interconnected strategies that, together, move us toward our mission.

In 2025, we’ve accomplished:

Creating Pathways to Housing

• Permanently housed a total of 119 households.

  • 49 families

  • 38 single adults

  • 21 youth

  • 11 seniors

• Actively working with 226 landlords/property operators and over 25 service providers

• Prevented 51 evictions

• Provided a leadership development program for 5 youth who have experienced homelessness.

Increased the Supply of Affordable Housing

• Through our 3C Initiative, we advanced our support of 10 emerging developers and property owners for 15 small-scale affordable housing developments, which will total to more than 150 new or preserved homes. 

• Launched the Greater Miami Funders Collaborative to convene funders and align capital toward mission-driven developments. The Collaborative ensures investments reach projects that meet the most pressing needs in our community.
