SBC CDC created SBC CDC Youth Zone to address the needs of youth and to help them achieve academic excellence. For 20 years, we offer out-of-school programs that includes an after-school care program (ASC) for 65-100 children in Kindergarten - 8th grades with a 90% retention rate. Our ASC program offers academic enrichment, tutorial services in reading & math, homework completion, visual and performing arts classes, STEM sessions, snacks, recreation, a computer lab, classroom tablets, and a library/resource center with accelerated reading books. We also offer Teacher Planning Day Camps and a Spring Break Camp with STEM and cultural activities/field trips.

SBC CDC offers a S.T.R.E.A.M.S. summer camp, which focuses on Science, Technology, Reading & Literacy, Engineering & Robotics, Arts: Visual & Performing, Mathematics, & Sports. It is an all day, all kids included, camp that culminates with a musical production. Campers have produced the musicals Sarafina, The Wiz, The Sounds of Motown performed at the historical Seminole Theater in Homestead, & The HBCU Experience: It Really is a Different World. Also included in the culminating event was an Art Exhibit curated by M.U.C.E 305 with professional artists. Our staff consists of professional artists, experienced and certified teachers, and student interns from our job internship program. SBC CDC also offers a free college and career readiness program for high school students.

In collaboration with Miami-Dade County & the Cornerstone Group Development Corp, SBC CDC developed John & Anita Senior Residences - a 79-unit affordable senior apartment complex. SBC CDC's community projects include a community family day, a Walmart Christmas shopping spree that serves 200 kids with a $100 experience, seniors' computer classes in partnership with Microsoft, adopt-a-senior outings escorted by high school students, a shoe drive, back-to-school supplies give-a-way, and a pop-up gallery called Artwalk Richmond Heights, along with other free outreach events and programs annually.
