AWE Foundation

AWE Foundation seeks to achieve its mission through four main initiative interventions:
1. Edification: Provide edification to women especially in areas of financial literacy, digital literacy, entrepreneurial skills and wellbeing.
2. Market Access: Increase women's market access and scope by creating innovative, virtual communities of buyers and sellers.
3. Policy Advocacy Through Gender Disaggregated Data: Curate gender disaggregated data to inform policy makers of the obstacles and opportunities for achieving UN Sustainable Goal #5: gender equality.
4. Building Communities of Empowered Women: Coalesce communities through peer-to-peer interactions, mentoring and spotlighting role models.

Our flagship program, The AWE Project™, is a high-impact accelerator and mentorship program for Black and Latina women entrepreneurs who have been historically underutilized and underinvested in many communities. The program includes an entrepreneurship skills Bootcamp followed by a structured bespoke mentoring program over 9 months, with the objective of empowering these women entrepreneurs to achieve high growth impact, to improve their businesses, and to become economic pillars of their communities.

This October, we've launched The AWE Project Miami to build an inspired community that offers a diverse set of skills and support for 25 women entrepreneurs ("AWEpreneurs") from South Florida. Our AWEpreneurs have successfully completed the 4-Day Bootcamp and are currently being matched with a mentor for bespoke mentoring to address their business's top five challenges. We have now launched in Miami after successfully impacting women in Detroit, Baltimore and Lucknow, India.

The AWE Project was inspired by Project AIRSWEEE, an entrepreneurship education and mentorship program for Indian women that received an unprecedented six rounds of funding from the U.S. State Department, that Ms. Seema Chaturvedi (Founder and Chair of The AWE Foundation), designed and implemented.
