About Reflect Collective

Reflect Collective is a queer, trans, person of color (QTPOC) led, women-led, disabled-led, youth-led nonprofit based in South Florida, created for QTPOC who are survivors of violence. We exist to fill the gaps left by systems that continue to fail us, offering direct support, healing spaces, and transformative education that centers the lived experiences of our communities.

We support survivors through:

  • Unrestricted mutual aid

  • Community healing events

  • Trauma-informed, queer-inclusive sex and relationship education

Our vision is bold but clear: a world free of violence. We believe this future is not only possible, but within reach when survivors are resourced, affirmed, and empowered.

Our Story

Reflect began in 2019 with a small art show for queer survivors at FIU (now known as Queer Fest) and quickly evolved into a movement. When one of our founders, Ame Leon, was traumatized by the very institutions meant to help after surviving domestic and sexual violence, it revealed a devastating truth: the system protects abusers more than survivors, especially when those survivors are Black, trans, queer, disabled, or poor.

In 2021, Reflect became an official nonprofit founded by Ame, Ti Ti Nguyen, and Jasmine Smith, grounded in mutual aid, transformative justice, and the urgent need to support QTPOC survivors where the system fails.

Since then, we’ve:

  • Provided over 100 QTPOC Survivor Grants

  • Launched the Full Moon Survivor Wellness Series

  • Created a bi-weekly Survivor Book Club

  • Hosted our first Whole Selves: Youth Sex Ed Conference

  • Co-hosted major events like TransCon, CHARM Giving Back Day, and Breaking the Stigma: HIV Conference

Who We Are

Our leadership team is made up entirely of queer, trans survivors of color living with disabilities. We come from Black, Asian, Indigenous, and multiracial backgrounds. We live at the intersection of queerness, disability, poverty, and survival and bring these truths into everything we do.

Our structure is non-hierarchical and consensus-based. We lead together. We build together. We listen to and organize with our community, ensuring survivors' voices and needs shape every program we offer.

Why Your Support Matters

When survivors can’t afford food, rent, therapy, or medication, healing isn’t possible. When traditional sex ed ignores queer and trans people, we lose the chance to protect ourselves and each other. When healing spaces don’t center disabled folks or survivors of color, they are not truly healing.

Your donation directly helps us fund:

  • Unrestricted grants for QTPOC survivors

  • Accessible healing events and wellness workshops

  • Culturally competent sex ed and community care programming

We’re asking you to stand with us because survivors deserve more than survival. We deserve liberation.

Giving Activity

Mission

Our mission is simple: to end sexual and domestic violence for all. We believe this can only be achieved by centering the needs of those most marginalized, which is why our focus is on Queer, Trans, and People of Color (QTPOC) who experience the highest rates of violence. We work toward this goal through direct financial support, community-based healing programs, and educational initiatives.
