The Mighty Lion Band Parent Association (BPA) proudly champions the award-winning Marching Band, Concert Band, Color Guard, and Winter Guard at Mater Academy Middle/High School. As a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we are dedicated to raising vital funds that ensure our students receive a top-tier music and arts education, fostering discipline, teamwork, creativity, and personal growth.
About Our Marching Band
Our Marching Band is more than just an outdoor performing ensemble; it’s a vibrant community that showcases the incredible talent of our instrumental musicians and color guard. We perform at football games, pep rallies, and community events, and we compete at the highest levels. With a distinguished history in the Florida Marching Band Championship (FMBC), our band consistently earns superior ratings, proudly representing our school in District 16 of the Florida Bandmasters Association.

About Our Winter Guard
The Mater Academy Winter Guard is a dynamic and skilled performing arts group that artfully blends artistry, athleticism, and precision. Competing in the South Florida Winter Guard Association (SFWGA), our Winter Guard program offers students a unique opportunity to engage in an art form that combines dance, theater, and the manipulation of flags, rifles, and sabers. Under the direction of Shania Lima, our Winter Guard has consistently earned top honors at regional and state competitions.

- 2024: SFWGA Class Champions: 1st Place
- 2023: SFWGA Class Champions - Mater JV Guard (“I Am Speed”)

The Mighty Lion Band Parent Association is dedicated to fostering an inclusive and supportive community that empowers our students—many of whom are minorities, first-generation students, and immigrants—through a comprehensive music and arts education. We strive to enhance the educational experience of the Mighty Lion Band by raising essential funds, providing resources, and promoting opportunities for growth and excellence in performance. Through collaboration, teamwork, and creativity, we aim to instill values of discipline, leadership, and pride in our students, ensuring they thrive as musicians and individuals while representing Mater Academy with honor and distinction.

• $25 helps us clean and maintain our uniforms
• $50 helps provide transportation for a student to football games, competitions and festival performances
