Hearts of Our Parks Fund

A nonprofit organization

The City of Miami’s Parks and Recreation Department is dedicated to creating a brighter future through a world-class park system that serves both our residents and visitors. Our city is home to over 150 parks covering more than 1,400 acres, along with 12 swimming pool facilities, over 40 community centers, four gymnasiums, the Sandra DeLucca Developmental Center, the Little Haiti Cultural Center and Caribbean Marketplace, and Grapeland Water Park.

We also maintain valuable natural and recreational spaces on Virginia Key, including mountain bike trails, walking paths, and beaches. The area features three designated Natural Forest Communities: the Visitor’s Center at Simpson Hammock Park, a 32-acre hammock restoration and interpretive trail, and the historic hammock at Alice Wainwright Park.

Nationally accredited by the Commission for Accreditation of Park and Recreation Agencies (CAPRA), Miami Parks is proud to deliver high-quality, inclusive services that enrich lives across all age groups. Our offerings include seasonal camps, youth sports, learn-to-swim programs, teen engagement activities, senior programming, and services for individuals with disabilities. We also offer innovative STREAM (Science, Technology, Recreation, Engineering, Arts, and Math) programs designed to educate and inspire.

With a strong focus on safety, accessibility, and community well-being, the City of Miami Parks and Recreation Department is committed to restoring, enhancing, and maintaining spaces where everyone can enjoy, connect, and thrive. There truly is something for everyone.
