Dr. Carlos J Finlay Elementary PTA

We are a bilingual Title I elementary school that hosts programs for early education, STEM, robotics, special needs curriculums, and learning though the arts and community cultural resources. We promote health and wellness, practicing leadership, inclusivity and kindness. Our administrators, faculty, and PTA are big supporters of family and community engagement to strengthen the home-school-community bond and enhance the educational experience of our students.

Our faculty and staff collaborates with Florida International University to offer opportunities for students to participate in unique programs and experiences. Our school strives to provide a nurturing environment where a positive school culture permeates through its halls and classrooms. The exemplary teachers at CJF provide their students with a rich academic program using 21st Century Learning practices and inquiry-based learning approaches.  CJF’s faculty and staff are committed to developing the “whole” child. They focus on the social emotional development and foundational skills of students through differentiated and individualized instruction. 

Our award-winning elementary school has been recognized as a 2024-2025 District 8 School of Excellence. We also have the honor of earning STEAM Platinum recognition for being designated Gold for 6 years in a row. This year we were also awarded with the Green Schools Excellence Award for the Community Involvement category.
