The Miami Community Music Center (MC2) provides comprehensive intergenerational music education and experiences from birth through adulthood through after school, evening, summer, and weekend classes and ensembles.

Our organization began with two moms who are also music educators. Coming out of the Covid-19 pandemic, we had a strong desire to create a new music education organization that offered high quality music education and musical experiences in a relaxed and community-based environment. Our focus is on participatory and experiential classes and ensembles rather than performance oriented ensembles. Our desire is to connect with our community while inspiring creativity and engagement for learners of all ages and backgrounds. Together, we rallied a team of other music and arts educators, and other non-profit leaders and community activists, to help us form our organization and the beginning stages of our programming.

We successfully began in the summer of 2022 by offering ukulele club, Sing Move Play, and strings classes. Now we also offer early childhood music and beginning keyboard classes.  In May 2023 we hosted a Community Music Day that served over 300 people through performances, chamber music workshops, and non-competitive adjudications.  We also began a partnership with Pinecrest Elementary School to provide afterschool string instrument instruction.
