Ballet Flamenco La Rosa (BFLR) is an International professional flamenco dance company, based in Miami and made up of dancers and musicians from the U.S., Latin America and Spain. Under the Artistic Direction of founder Ilisa Rosal, they present pure Flamenco, cross-cultural fusions with other music and dance forms such as Jazz, Tap, Blues and American Country Music, Middle-eastern, Afro-Cuban, Afro-Haitian, African, Sephardic, Indian Dance and Celtic Music and Dance, and narrative Flamenco Ballets inspired by great works of theater and literature by such authors and playwrights as Shakespeare, Euripides, Ibsen, Strindberg, Chekov, Flaubert, Bram Stoker, D.H. Lawrence, Bernard Shaw, Arthur Miller and Tennessee Williams.

In addition to its performances, the company operates a performing arts school offering classes in Flamenco dance, guitar and singing, as well as Ballet, Jazz,
Modern/Contemporay Dance, Hip-hop, Tap, Tango, Haitian Dance, Belly Dance, Ballroom, Stretch and Barre, Yoga, Movement for Rehab and Aging, Acting in English and Spanish, Piano, Guitar, Vocals, Song Writing and Creative Writing.

BFLR implements programs to increase public awareness of this art form from lecture/demonstrations in public schools, libraries and community centers, to performances at festivals and all types of local and national events. During the COVID pandemic, the company has offered performances and classes online, as well as posted educational content on social media in order to stay connected with the community and offer inspiring and engaging cultural experiences. Ballet Flamenco La Rosa is pleased and proud to offer full and partial scholarships as well as reduced price and complementary tickets to all of our programs. We have a policy of not turning anyone away because of inability to pay. Our internship, scholarship and work exchange programs have served hundreds of constituents over the years, and will continue to be a priority going forward.

Mission

The mission of Ballet Flamenco La Rosa is to present authentic Flamenco dance with live music in a theatrical setting, expanding the art form beyond traditional limits to appeal to broad based audiences.
