A volunteer-run alliance helping animals and supporting the sanctuaries that care for them.

Florida Animal Rescue Alliance (FARA) began with the rescue of one pig and a realization: animals need a community willing to stand together for them. Today, we connect sanctuaries, rescues, advocates, fosters, and volunteers across Florida to help animals facing slaughter, neglect, abandonment, and inhumane conditions.

FARA is entirely volunteer-run, with no paid staff. Our work depends on compassionate people sharing their time, resources, and support.

Our Mission

We strengthen animal protection through sanctuary partnerships, coordinated animal assistance, advocacy, and education. Together, we help animals access veterinary care, safe placements, and the support they need to recover.

Our work includes:

• Emergency veterinary assistance and rehabilitation support
• Sanctuary partnerships and resource sharing
• Coordinated rescue efforts, transportation, and placements
• Spay/neuter assistance
• Volunteer service and community outreach
• Humane education and animal advocacy

Our Work in 2026

This year, FARA has continued bringing people and organizations together to help farm animals, companion animals, and community animals in need.

From coordinating sanctuary placements for animals removed from unsafe conditions to helping cover emergency veterinary bills, our role is to connect needs with people who can help and support those caring for animals long after the initial emergency.

The Need Continues

Veterinary treatment, medications, food, transportation, and daily care create ongoing expenses. Emergency cases often arrive before donations do, stretching the resources of our volunteers, fosters, and sanctuary partners.

Our Give Miami Day Goal: $15,000

This Give Miami Day, we are raising $15,000 to help:

• Pay outstanding veterinary bills
• Fund emergency treatment and spay/neuter procedures
• Provide food, medications, and essential supplies
• Support transportation and safe sanctuary placements
• Equip volunteers and strengthen sanctuary partnerships
• Sustain the coordination, education, and advocacy behind this work
