Our vision is to be a global PK3-12 school community where excellence in values-based, purposeful, and experiential learning happens for every student, every day, everywhere: at home, in the classroom, in Miami, and around the globe.
Founded in 1938, Miami Country Day was a residential boarding school for boys, Kindergarten through eighth grade. The Country Day movement began as a progressive educational movement in the late 19th Century in the Northeast. Children would not just sit in their seats as receptacles for knowledge but learn in and out of the classroom, thereby exploring their full potential. Country Day has evolved over the past 88 years, pioneering the education of the whole child. We are now a coeducational, nonprofit, interdenominational learning community with approximately 1400 students in PK3 through 12th grade, representing over 40 countries. The school's first graduating senior class was in 1981.
The school is accredited by FCIS and SACS; it maintains active memberships in NACAC, SACAC, ACCIS, NAIS, SAIS, CASE, CRIS, ERB, the American Library Association, and the College Board.
