A Leap of Faith Foundation Values

A Leap of Faith Foundation (ALOF) Values are guided by compassion, integrity, respect, empowerment, and service. We promote health, wellness, education, and advocacy while treating everyone with dignity and without judgment.

1. What three words can explain ALOF

Compassionate, Empowering, Hopefully, every interaction should leave people feeling welcomed, supported, and inspired to believe positive change is possible.

2. ALOF Unique Value that sets us apart is that we discover and develops original talent, that is overlooked by most, creating opportunities through mentorship, creativity, education, and support because talent and passion should open doors for you to fly out of circumstances.

3. What sentence capture ALOF

We inspire people to step up and level up through their abilities and not limits that allow them to succeed through one's unique capabilities.

4. Vision: Talks about the future you want to see and Mission talks about how you are going to accomplish your vision

Through Arts and entertainment, ALOF envisions a future where every individual has the opportunity to discover their talents, overcome barriers, and achieve their full potential regardless of their background or circumstances. We see communities where creativity, wellness, education, and support create pathways for people to thrive and succeed.

5.   Problem

ALOF faces limited funding, staffing, data, and space, making it harder to reach more people, sustain programs, and provide consistent opportunities for hope, healing, and growth.

6. Why does this problem matter to you?

Because it could be solved if there was equality and equity amongst all man but because it isn’t, someone has to advocate and fight for those who are not aware and lack the skills to acquire what they have within reach. 

7. Strengths:

A Leap of Faith Foundation’s strengths are built on a strong community reputation, cultural connection, and a commitment to using the arts as a tool for social change. Over fifteen years of consistent programming, 

including events such as Rip the Runway for Cancer, Dying to Live, Be Careful What You Ask For, Practicing What You Preach and many other productions and events, have helped establish trust with community members, artists, health advocates, and local stakeholders. The organization’s deep roots in Miami’s African American community and partnerships with multicultural artists reflect cultural competence and align with Howard University’s Black Perspective by promoting cultural affirmation and community transformation. ALOF’s innovative arts-as-advocacy model uses theater, film, and storytelling to bring awareness to important issues such as cancer prevention, homelessness, family trauma, and health disparities. Through grassroots partnerships with health professionals, schools, and community organizations, ALOF creates opportunities for holistic engagement. Additionally, the dedication of volunteers, artists, and supporters strengthens the organization by building social capital, reducing costs, and increasing community involvement.

8. Weakness:

Limited funding, staffing, and grant-writing capacity; leadership burnout; limited outcome data; and reliance on rented spaces may restrict ALOF’s growth and sustainability.

9. Opportunities:

Expand arts-for-social-change programs, build university and health partnerships, grow digital outreach, secure corporate support, and develop youth and emerging artists.

10. Threats:

Being denied for limited funding and having to compete for limited funding, when we all have a unique ability, economic instability, event disruptions, policy changes, and volunteer burnout may threaten ALOF’s sustainability, programming, and community impact.

11. Why does this problem should matter to the world?

Too many people have talent and abilities but lack the financial support to succeed in their gifts. ALOF creates avenues to help those discover the hidden treasures inside.
