🌟 Dreams for Higher Education: A Legacy Rooted in Faith and Community

The vision for Dreams for Higher Education was born not in a boardroom, but at a motorcycle event—proof that purpose finds us in the most unexpected places. I was speaking with a woman whose daughter had just graduated high school with a full scholarship to Florida A&M University. Her joy was palpable, but so was her concern: despite the scholarship, her family couldn’t afford the essentials needed for her daughter to attend college.

In that moment, God spoke to me. The spirit moved, and I knew I had to act.

I began organizing a Trunk Party—an event to gather supplies and support for this young scholar’s journey. I posted on social media, shared the story, and invited others to join me. What happened next was nothing short of divine alignment. Parents from across Miami-Dade County began reaching out, sharing similar struggles. Their children had dreams for higher education, but lacked the resources to make those dreams real.

That’s when my mission became crystal clear:

To be a light for underserved youth striving to build better lives through education.

With faith, determination, and the strength of community, I hosted our first Trunk Party—supporting fourteen young men and women as they stepped into their college journeys. Today, that number has grown to over 100 students supported through our grassroots efforts.

📊 More than one-third of college students struggle to meet their basic needs.

This isn’t just a statistic—it’s a call to action.

We believe in the power of preparation, the strength of community, and the promise of education. As the African proverb reminds us, “It takes a village.” And as Malcolm X once said, “Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today.”

So let’s continue to prepare them. Let’s continue to show up.

Let’s continue to be the village.
