Mission
Our goal is to flip the script on housing coverage by centering renters, low-income families, seniors, immigrants, and workers fighting to stay in the city they call home. Miami Affordable Magazine's mission is to provide free, accessible and practical journalism that helps Miami residents understand affordable housing, homeownership, real estate development and economic opportunity.
Here's how you can support us: In a short period of time, Miami Affordable Magazine has built a growing platform dedicated to one of the most important issues facing our community: housing affordability.
Our newsletter has achieved open rates as high as 48%, demonstrating strong reader interest in the information we're providing.

We've established a content-sharing partnership with the University of Miami's Office of Civic and Community Engagement, creating opportunities for selected Miami Affordable Magazine journalism to reach its newsletter audience of more than 15,000 subscribers.
We've also developed a partnership with Florida International University's Jorge M. Pérez Metropolitan Center, strengthening our connection to research and expertise surrounding housing, economic development and the future of South Florida.
Miami Affordable Magazine is also a member of the Tiny News Collective, a national organization helping independent local newsrooms build sustainable models for community journalism.
Most importantly, we're producing journalism people can actually use.
We've reported on first-time homebuyer assistance, affordable housing programs, housing vouchers, homeownership workshops, real estate development and the people and organizations working to address Miami's housing crisis.
Our journalism has helped readers understand how they may qualify for tens of thousands of dollars in homebuyer assistance, introduced residents to affordable housing opportunities and programs, explained the economics behind housing development, and highlighted local entrepreneurs and housing leaders working to create solutions.
We believe this information shouldn't be available only to people who can afford expensive subscriptions.
Miami Affordable Magazine keeps its journalism free.
