Founded in 1984, the Mission Statement of the Friends of the Japanese Garden, Inc. is to work on behalf of and with the City of Miami to help maintain the Ichimura Miami-Japan Garden and promote the Japanese Culture to the citizens of Miami-Dade County as well as tourist to the area, by producing three FREE one day Japanese Festivals at the Garden.
In addition, the board of directors also support, sponsor, perform and co-promote other Asian Festivals and organizations.
