Founded in 1923, and more than 100 years later, Coral Gables Preparatory Academy (CGPA) and its PTSA continue to believe in George Merrick's vision:

This Give Miami Day, we invite our families, friends, alumni, and community supporters to help us create a school where teachers feel supported, students have the resources they need to thrive, and families feel connected and welcomed.

Your contribution will directly support three important areas this year:

Empowering Teachers Through Mini Grants

Our Teacher Mini Grant Program provides teachers with funding for much-needed classroom resources that can enrich learning and bring lessons to life. From hands-on manipulatives and STEM supplies to other classroom materials, these grants give our teachers additional resources to create engaging learning experiences for our students.

Supporting Our Teachers Who Support Our Children

Our teachers give so much to our children every day, and we want them to know how much our community appreciates them. Your support will help the PTSA provide everyday school supplies for teachers, as well as snacks and drinks for the teachers' lounge and other gestures of appreciation throughout the school year.

Building a Stronger School Community

A great school is more than classrooms and academics — it's a community. Give Miami Day funds will also help us create opportunities for our families to come together, connect, and feel at home at our school.

Events like Pastelitos with Abuelitos showed us just how special these moments can be. We hope to host many more activities that welcome our families, celebrate our community, and create lasting school memories.

Why Support CGPA PTSA?

Coral Gables Preparatory Academy serves more than 800 students in grades Pre-K through 8 and has proudly maintained an A rating since 2000.

The PTSA enhances educational opportunities through programs and resources that are not funded through traditional school budgets. Over the years, we have supported initiatives such as Accelerated Reader (AR), BrainPOP, Scholastic and Time for Kids subscriptions, National Junior and Elementary Honor Societies, Media Center improvements, classroom resources, PE, music and art supplies, and campus beautification projects.

Together, we help create a richer educational experience for every student.
