Good Karma Pet Rescue

Good Karma was started by Stacey Tollackson Chen in 2011 after volunteering and fostering for other local organizations. She founded Good Karma to able to rescue in what she felt was the right way - from no leaving behind moms or siblings when rescuing, not skimping on veterinary care, and really just striving to put the animal first.

We have grown from just a couple of foster parents to a network spanning hundreds of caring folks from Kendall to Port Saint Lucie with over a dozen partner veterinarians. We are now the largest foster-based rescue in Florida and saved over 1500 dogs & cats in 2022.

We rescue dogs and cats of all sizes, ages, breeds, and medical conditions. As long as we can find safe, appropriate placement, whether with one of our foster parents or at the Good Karma Pet Adoption Center, we welcome them into our program.

Our mission is to save as many dogs & cats as we can with the human and financial resources we have. We are extremely careful with the donations entrusted to us, saving funds wherever we can so that we have the money to spend where it matters.

Beyond just adoptable dogs & cats, now have:
- A hospice program in place to help terminally ill and unadoptable pets
- TNR program (trap-neuter-return community cats)
- Thriving cat transport program to help move unwanted cats from South Florida to the Northeast, where they are coveted
- Good Karma Pet Pantry to help struggling pet owners in our community with food and other pet supplies
- Good Karma Pet Clinic, a free monthly wellness, vaccine, & microchip clinic
